It snows in California, as a matter of fact they are getting blasted right now in the mountains. They even have ski resorts, shazam. LOL.

PS I agree with you 100%. Both of my brothers have lived there for over 30 years and they will never be able to afford to own a home and they are in their mid 50's.

I think California has surpassed New York in ridiculous fees and/or taxes.
This is what happens in states that are so corrupt, even the top 2 or three populations in the country paying the highest taxes can't keep up with the politicians greed, misguided funding, and cronyism.
Sad.

Thinking that a few moments with an attorney might might be the way to go right now.
Better to spend some time getting a better LEGAL understanding and advice before you have to drop a bunch of money on various (possibly not needed) requirements.
Good luck...

Re: Car Washing and Polishing Registration
In case you were still wondering. I called the Car Washing and Polishing Registration Unit of the State of California Department of Industrial Relations. The lady I spoke with told me that it is not necessary for a sole proprietor mobile detailer to have this registration. She said if I were to have so much as 1 person including a friend, helping me wash a car for my business then I would need it, but if it's just me then there is no issue.
I also called a surety bond agent regarding the required $150,000 car wash bond that goes along with this registration. He told me that it is different than insurance in that it essentially protects the customers you are servicing from higher legal matters. For example: they sign a contract for you to detail 100 cars for $20,000 and you decide to walk away with their money. This bond is something for them to resort to due to any fraudulent activity on your part. He also told me this registration initially came about in 2009 because there were a lot of car washing companies who would hire people for a trial period and then fire them and not pay them a dime.
In conclusion, we don't need it.

Maybe a little less jumping the gun and more research would do some people some good. i am not referring to the OP, i am glad you researched and got the info you needed. i think more research and a little less listening to what people spew out of his, I mean there tool sheds would have done the country good.

Ca actually had to pass legislation to allow people to collect rainwater ,,, I'm actually surprised they haven't tried to start charging us for it....!!
