    Thanks. 915 and CG XXX have been on my radar.

    The cool thing about M26 and Collinite 915 is they are old school waxes. They come in tin containers and dont try to wow you with a flashy logo. They are not the latest new thing. They are the latest old thing.
    Dare I say, I like both equally.

    I haven't used M26 in about 20 yrs and when I did it was the liquid, not the paste version. That said, I do own all 3 of the Collinite triplets and all are VERY easy to use, easy on, easy off and produce stunning results. Now, is M26 on par with #915, seriously??? Just curious.

    Sometimes it's overlooked, but D.O.I. is one of the main reasons for applying an LSP. ("Protection" is said to be another.)
    With that said:

    D.O.I.? As far as I'm concerned this is the best definition of D.O.I., as it pertains to auto-detailing.

    I asked a chemist friend about this and he said it was because M26 has/had the ability to bend light. Maybe one of our engineering type people can explain how that would work...

    D.O.I. = Distinction of Image

    The ability of a surface to reflect an image clearly. A mirror offers 100% D.O.I.

    Accordingly:
    Collinite #915, et al, is sucking hind teet.

    My new favorite Carnauba wax is Surf City Barrier Reef hand mixed paste wax. Its been on my wife's Subaru for almost 2 months and still looks great, only used a quick spray wax over it once since then.

    I've observed this DOI with #26 for years. IMO, you are spot on with the comments on #26 and images of the incredible DOI. I wouldn't be without it for my garage queen. Nothing I've used, new or old, had that same DOI. It leaves me smiling after applying. I might add that it provides a slight darkening and depth to my paint that I also really like.

    I also see the advantage of using it as a topper for my DD. #26 may not protect as long as some modern sealants but it over-delivers on appearance.

    Re: Meguiars 26

    I waxed my black Lexus this weekend with M26. I first hit the car with Poorboys Black Hole. Afterwards, in the garage, I really wasn't impressed. It didn't look any better to me than Ultimate Paste Wax, maybe with slightly better reflections, but it lacked the glow that Gold Class seemed to give.

    The next day, when I pulled out in the early morning before the sun broke the horizon, I noticed the reflections off the bonnet as driving were crisper than normal. Not game changing better, but they were slightly better vs UPW and GCCP. I parked the car and came back in the mid morning sun and I was really impressed. The car had more shine than normal, the reflections were incredible. What I really noticed though was how the car had a "3D" look to it. The 2nd generation IS has some really great lines, and M26 seemed to reflect the sun off of these lines more so than other Meguiars waxes I have tried and really highlighted it's sexy curves. It was stunningly black, so much so that I ordered up the paste version as I like working with pastes more than liquids, they seem to spread better/further/thinner with a DA. Honestly, I'm not sure I can find a wax that really gives me the WOW factor at a much higher cost. 11oz for $13 for a wax that does all of the above??? Seems like a win to me.

    I should mention that durability is rather meaningless to me since I wax monthly and my car is parked in a garage at home and work.
