    Making silver paint pop

Whats the best polish and wax combo? Silver with a slight metallic on a Audi paint is in great shape but want to make it really POP. I own a PC 7424 and several varieties of LC CCS pads. PLEASE ADVISE

I have owned a Passat CC and BMW Z that are both silver and after you have detailed dark cars you will never be satisfied with silver paint again, it just cant pop like red, blue or black..

I agree with this. With silver your always chasing the deep glossy reflection.

    Re: Making silver paint pop

I am so OCD that I didn't think I could own a black car so I went with silver but I am regretting my choice because despite my best efforts I can only get the silver to look good not great and I suppose it will never give me that deep wet look.

    Re: Making silver paint pop

I too struggle with this color. But after spending some time I finally got it to look to where I wanted. First I compound, polish with m205, polish again with SF4500 Menzerna, apply bfwd & bfms.

Here's a quick snap before work. Not the best picture due to my cellphone. That's just my daily which I didn't even go 100% on it.

    Re: Making silver paint pop

My 2 silver SUVs get Fusion and dodo light fantastic as paste waxes and D156, WG spray sealant for in between. They don't "pop" unless you can get the right light angle though. But they're clean and protected. Silver is tough to "pop" but they hold off looking dirty better than almost any color besides tan/brown.

Would it be possible to use a wax and then a glaze? The glaze might last for a day but that might make it pop no?

The reason I ask is because I just got my Collinite 476s and I also have Meguiars no. 7

I am planning on doing my moms car, just a quick bright and shine. She has a 2012 Toyota Prius

So I am planning on claying and then Collinite 476s

Then when my step dad washes it on his own i can tell him to use meguiars no. 7
