C4, C5 or C6? I have a C5 S6 avant and C5 A6 in the garage, both Light Silver metallic. After having the A6 I didn't want another light silver but when we were looking for an S6 avant, this one came up locally; with only 1120 in the US and 7 local I know of, we didn't have much in the way of options.

Also it depends on what silver is the paint too wether it's dark or light. The wet look I think it's more for darker silver. The really light silver will probably only be shinny. Don't quote me on it though. I wish I had all kind of silver to test it.

If I do apply the Meguiars no.7 how long do I have to wait until I can top it with Collinite?

And would I use car wash soap. Say Meguiar's? I think Dawn might be to overkill???
I'm not familiar with #7 glaze. I just heard it gives great result but very difficult to remove if you don't know what you're doing. They also say #7 is good for single stage paint. I myself think there's better glaze and easier to work with out there. But I'm assuming you probably have #7 already. You might want to search around for tips on how to work with it.

    Re: Making silver paint pop

Here are some pics I snapped real quick today for my silver car.

    Hood

Not sure if you see the pop in the pictures but in person it looks a lot better. I have never seen my silver paint like this before. Paint was washed, clayed, Polished with WG TSR and WG FG and sealed with WGDGPS about 4 weeks ago. Just last Saturday. I top it with DP Max Wax and man did it bring out those metallic flakes, like I said earlier, I have never seen my silver paint look this good.

Sorry to restart this thread but several of you have recommended a Blackfire product and I wanted to know which one specially. Thanks again for being the most helpful forum members of any site out there.

    Re: Making silver paint pop

I've been struggling with this all week. I just did a two day detail on my Tungsten Gray Mustang. M105/M205, Chemical Guys Blacklight and Pete's 53 Pearl. It just feels like it doesn't pop. Granted, lots of factory orange peel and some great reflections. The metallic really shows from certain angles but it still feels like that last bit of 'pow' is missing.
