    Question cleaning windows (help me)

ok so i just washed and waxed the car this weekend and it was smooth as a babies bottom. i ran into some trouble but rewashed the car the next day and tadaaaa i got it right the second time.

BUT my windows....o man they look horrible inside and out...

i tried from windex to rain x 2 in 1 window cleaner...nothing seems to work! both of them just smear the oily look even more.

even rain x which i got at the auto store is suppose to repell rain apply water beading and prevent that sleet look in the morning....but it didnt...i woke up and BAM, water had settled on all windows. with that i had to go inside and remove all the water that had settled with a towel.

    any opinions?

I end up using a few towels in order to get a streak free results.

I take hot water in a bucket. Then use one MF or glass towel and scrub the glass. Wring out after each pass. Then I follow up with a clean MF and glass cleaner to remove any streaking from the water. Lastly I use another clean MF to buff away anything thats left over.

What kind of rain X did you buy. They make two glass cleaners one repels water while the other is just a cleaner. If you bought just the glass cleaner then it will not protect or repel water.

I'm not sure what's going on with the inside, but you may want to try a paint cleaner or mild polish with a claying on the outside to remove any contaminants and start with clean glass.

They have a few different clay kits you can get over the counter. The Meguiars one is good. Never used the mothers clay.

no worries, i used the rain x not in spray but in an actual bottle i had here. a very milky color. just wiped in on like a wax, then let it dry. once its hazy just buff it off. worked like a charm. i did the inside and out of all the windows except the rear, i only did the outside of it.

Wait, what? You also applied the Rain-X repellent to the inside glass surfaces? Why? It's not going to get rained on inside, and the rain repellent will probably make fogging inside more likely.
