What is this on my paint??

    Hi all,

While polishing my car yesterday (first time), I noticed something weird on my hood. I proceeded to polish it out using Megs UP and white hybrids on my flex.

Once done, the next day I noticed it in the sunlight and it was way more obvious, probably because the defects had been removed from above it.

Could someone please tell me what this is??

It looks like it's from the transit wrapping while the car was on the truck. However, it looks there was some sort of adhesive that was applied and I thought most of that protective plastic was self sticking.

Is that a GTI we're seeing? I love the blue they are offering on the MK7's.

yes indeed. The car is now 1.5 years old so thats why it was so weird as i've never seen it when cleaning or waxing beore.

In looking at your other thread, you put plastic over the car at some point in your process. Could it have rested against the finish in that spot? I am not an expert--just throwing out an idea.

Hey, I wish it were that cuz then i'd have an explanation.

But unfortunately in this case, the defect or whatever it is, was there from before. I actually notices it about a month ago when washing the car.
