Prep polish for any ceramic coating?
Hi everyone!
So I use Gtechniq Exov3 and I love it.
However trying to finish down perfectly on finicky black paint can be treacherous when doing an IPA wipe down. Sometimes it mars slightly or still reveals marring from the finishing polish.
I know there are prep polishes for other coatings.
So could I use something like McKee’s prep polish or Gyeons primer polish with Gtechniq EXOv3 or will this compromise the coating?
Thanks

The goal is to remove any polish residue so that the coating will bond to the paint.
A prep polish should be okay as long as it removes the polish residue.

Understood. Some prep polishes supposedly leave the surface free of oils and residue that would otherwise impede the coating.
Just trying to see what options there are if any.

Some like to use Carpro Essence since it can be used as a primer for Cquartz.
I haven’t used it enough to be sold on the idea yet. I guess as long as it’s used correctly it works. It was intended to be used with Cquartz, not sure about other coatings. Some pros really like it and use it with other coatings.

Very cool. I forgot about that one. Thanks.

I thought user 512Detail over on Autopia used Essence under CSL/EXO and it didn't play together very well; limited the longevity of the coating(s)

I would just stay away from mixing coating prep polishes that leave a primer coat behind with another brands coating on top.
The M37 prep polish and the DG Squeaky Clean are just cleaners.

That’s exactly what I needed to know. Someone who had used it before to see the results! Thanks!
