    Gloss Spray Paint

Hey guys I am fairly new to this detailing hobby/job. I personally do this as a hobby and just like making my vehicle look new. Now I have a question I've seen multiple videos on YouTube were people use gloss Spray paint as a final seal for their headlights after wet sanding. Now my question is, is this a great way to finish off headlights or are there any bad side affects? Supposedly on updated pictures the coating lasted for 2 years on a vehicle. What are your thoughts??

Sure, it can be a great way to seal and protect your lights. A two part clear would be preferred.

A plus side to it is you do not have to sand out to higher grits. The clear will fill the sanding marks in.

The down side is overspray if you are doing them in the vehicle. That and you do not want to breathe in particulate from 2K clear, or one part either.

A 2 part or 2K clear coat is preferred because it hardens through a chemical reaction and generally has greater UV inhibitors. In my opinion, I feel that the best protection for headlights is to apply the Xpel PPF headlight protectors or similar and then use what ever compliable LSP on top of them.
