    WETS after solution finish?

I need to restore the windshield cowl on my car and was wondering if anyone has used Solution Finish, and then once cured, apply WETS on top for added protection and longetivity? I have unopened bottles of both already

Been wondering the same. Folks use DLux on top of SF so I don't really see why one can't use WETS. I'll let the pros chime in.

WETS, a Sealant, should be perfectly
fine to use on top of a totally cured
application of Solution Finish (SF), IMO.

    Note:
I like using Ultima Paint Guard Plus
    as a "sealer" for SF.

    Also:
I personally would never use DLux,
(being: it's a Coating), on top of SF.

Thanks for the input Bob. I guess I could use BF crystal seal, but since I have WETS why not, right?

Should work fine. I was thinking about this as well. Was going to do this exact thing but I think I am going to go another route as I just used solution finish.

I use BF Trim and Tire Sealant, which should be somewhat similar to WETS, on top of dried SF. No problems, and it actually adds hydrophobicity to the SF treated area.

I would recommend SF'ing the area. Then drive the car. On your next wash - top it with WETS.

Thanks for the feeback guys! Swanicyouth's plan sounds like a good process, I'll put that to work next wash

The Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant is perfect for protecting the cowl once the Solution Finish has fully cured.

I wouldn't wait too long, I did my wife's Lexus running boards with solution finish about 10 days ago & the black is already starting to fade. I'm going to reapply the SF in a week or so & top it with Delux a day or so after its dry hoping the color will stay longer this time.

I have not used DLUX yet but am going to research it as it gets great reviews. I do like WETS as it really does a great job and a few drops goes a super long way. Here are some examples. Applied two washes ago and this is from a recent rain that my wife drove through. Holds up really well. I typically reapply it ever couple months or so if I feel it's needed not because of the lack of beading as it does continue to do that, but rather to enhance the deeper color of the trim. They haven't ever faded back to the nasty gray/white they aged to but I do like the much darker appearance of them when WETS is applied.

Our van was abused for many years when the kids were very little and the trim was badly faded thus it still requires a bit more care vs my newer car that might only need WETS redone every 6 months or so.

WETS on a on time very very badly faded bit of trim.

Tailgate trim on van at one time faded to near white in color.

Rear Wiper, rather than leaving it gray and faded, WETS really make it look nice.

Windshield Cowl was very light gray in many areas at one time and the metal wiper arms were the same.
