    mmmmm swirls..in Arctic White

Im new to removing swirls or other, But about 7 days ago i whipped out my New Griots 6 " and went to town, on my 2006 vette, Arctic White.
I used WolfGang swirl remover 3.0, then i did WolfGang Finishing Glaze 3.0
And i used,, Blue and Gold- Lake Country pad's.
Now when i look at car, i see i have the same amount of swirls i orig had.
Could these be my biggest mistakes ?

    1 -Not enough pressure ?
    2 - Wrong Pad's ?
    3 - Product ?
As i look at the orbital, i now see i had it on Speed 1
So do i just redo and at higher speed and pressure ? or pad's ?

    wrong pads and wrong speed.

you'll want a medium to high cutting pad such as an orange lake country thin pad to use with the swirl remover. Especially so on a Vette that tends to have some tough clear coat. the new thin pads work well on standard DA Orbitals. Especially 6" sized ones. I suppose the Their hybrid light blue would work but you were at way too slow of a speed. Not my first choice of pads for removing swirls though. Use both on a much her speed. Then Move to a white pad for the Finishing Glaze.

I don't own the GG unit but I would suspect it goes to a speed setting of 6 or so. the glaze/polish might be able to be done at one notch lower but the key with your unit is to keep it spinning.

Wrong pad, wrong speed, and possibly wrong product. The blue and gold pads are very soft and won't cut well. Definitely going to need to go to speed 5-6. Depending on the condition of the paint you may need a compound followed with a polish. White is very forgiving. Try Menzerma 400 to cut and Menz 3800 to finish. I personally like the Meguires cutting and finishing microfiber pads. Good luck and enjoy!
