Pulling the Trigger on the New G9-Which Pads?

My old Cyclo is wearing on me. It works great, but weighs a ton. I'm going to get a new G9, so now I need to decide which pads to buy.

    Griot's? Lake Country? Rupes?

I'm starting to get analysis paralysis.

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

It's all personal preference but i like lake country SDO/HDO/CCS. However, i have some rupes waffle pads coming (white/yellow), i really have high hopes for them. I always liked how rupes pads fit my backing plates.

Re: Pulling the Trigger on the New G9-Which Pads?

I've had great experiences with Rupes white and yellow pads as well as Buff and Shine Uro-fiber pads. The Rupes yellow is a great one step pad for soft paints or as a finishing pad on medium to hard paint. The Uro-fiber pads are fantastic one step pads paired with the right on polish on medium and hard paints but could also work well as a cutting pad on soft paints (have not tried that myself though).

The Scholl/Sky's the limit spider pads look very interesting.

Nothing against Griots but considering the price, I'd suggest the HF Hercules forced rotation DA polisher. It will work faster than a regular DA.

I use Lake Country and Jescar pads with my G9. I almost always use it on speed 5 or 6 as well. My favorite pad is the Lake Country Light-Cutting microfiber pad.

I have a G9 and prefer using it with the 5 inch backing plate. I found the larger size harder to manage, but I'm not pro.

I used these pads with great results: Buff and Shine 5.5 in. Flat Foam Pads 6 Pack - YOUR CHOICE

Picked one up from Clean Garage. Now I'm waiting for sales on pads, etc.

The Orange 1-step HDO microfiber? Is it the newer version? I always wanted to try one of them. If i was a pro HDO would probably be my pads of choice.

Re: Pulling the Trigger on the New G9-Which Pads?

I use the boss pads and the have done everything I’ve needed. Orange cut great and have done 2 cars that did not need a second step after.

The yellow are magical at one stepping.

Only one else I would consider (if I had g9) is the LC SDO line and the Rupes pads.

The Boss pads are thin and hold rotation well.

If I needed all new pads I would buy whatever is cheapest in pads I mentioned.

Thanks to all for the input. It's much appreciated.

I noticed I was running a bit low on Griots Surface Wash, so I found a 15% off coupon and ordered the pads and correcting creams, too.
