I would call customer service directly instead of emailing. I had a good experience that way. It speed things up if you've ordered directly from Griot's.

The 3rd date on my post is 12/31. That’s the day I called. Received emailed call tag several days later. The buffer is on its way back to griots and should be there tomorrow. I asked them to pull the replacement out and test it before they send it. Hopefully they get it out quick and it’works

Re: And then... There was a G8 (Polisher)

Mine broke yesterday. The trigger lock button popped out. It just shot out. I tried to push it back on, but then it got stuck in the lock position. It wouldn't stop spinning so I unplugged it. Now it doesn't work at all. GG said they will send me a shipping label for replacement. The button is plastic on a threaded screw. It's a weak point.

Received mine today. Definitely looks like a nice machine. Feels solid. I can’t wait to use it.

Re: And then... There was a G8 (Polisher)

I should say I used mine for about 3 hours. It took out a deep scratch on my Harley. I have to agree with others it struggles below setting 5. I have a dove tail fender and it had a hard time with the contours on setting 3. It polished my bike. I'm sure I can do headlights with it. I know GG will take care of me. Despite the set back with the trigger lock button it's still a good price. I'm sure GG will get it dialed in. I'm not ready to go $300+ for a really good one. I'm not knocking it. I'm impressed with GG customer service.

Re: And then... There was a G8 (Polisher)

Got mine today. Trigger would stick on almost as if some debris was caught in the housing. I kept working it and it eventually it loosened up. All of the issues with the last one are not present in this one. Going to put it to work tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I have no stalling issues below 5, but I don't cut below 5. I polish on 3 or 4, and 3 to apply lsp, if not using a coating.

GG is sending out my replacement. They didn't waste any time getting the new one on it's way out to me. I have some chrome and a set of headlights I can get it going on. Can't wait.
