Grease a new G6 or G3 before first use?
I just bought these new units and taking time to get forum experience before I start putting them to work. Should I open them up and load with lithium grease or take a chance the factory did it right? I am going to set the 6-inch over to 5-inch as bought their conversion kit. And how frequently does your experience say to repack with use?

If you open the cases you run the risk of voiding the lifetime warranty. My GG6 is 8 years old and still running strong on the original factory grease.
By the way--did you get a 5" backing plate and 5.5" pads for the GG6?

With a lifetime warranty, I wouldn't worry about it.

nice order! no need to open them up, they are ready to use (optional to take the handle off or keep it on as it's personal preference). i would opt for the 5" DA backing plate and 5.5" pads on the GG6 and also get the 3" HD backing plate for it as well so you can use 3.5" pads. with the GG3, look into the 2" DA conversion kit (3" & 5" conversion kit also available)...
click and go to the -3:10 mark...

Everything Visitor said....
As far as grease, I've never had an issue with my G6 x2 (one with 5" vent plate, one with 3" HD plate), G21 or my G3 (with 2" plate) in the last 4 years. Haven't had to change brushes out yet either

Yes, picked up their kit with backing plate and few pads. Added the new 2-in kit for the 3-inch for the small section on my sedans. Just getting items ready and looking for time to start the new tools.

Yes I had a great offer so now I added most of what Visitor recommended. Next will wait for a good AG sale and fill in my cabinet. Great photos of the SEMA show team.

You are gonna LOVE these. I promise. I have almost everything in your pics minus the creeper seat.
Not one GG product has let me down.

I agree with everything said. Also, if you did regrease, lithium grease would ruin your machine in no time. You would want to use a high pressure, high temp grease. Lithium grease is decent on door hinges.

Bingo on that, Chris.
No need to grease your new GG units.
