    Diamond Plate Toolbox

For all you pro's I used my new 3 GG polisher today to do a diamond plate tool box. After what seemed to be a 100 different chemicals the Zephyr Pro 40 came out like a mirror. Question is for one it took forever what should I have used first prior to polishing for prep. Second now that it's polished should I go over it with a coat of wax to protect. Ok all you guys laughing that's fine I admit that the diamond plate kicked my but. But hey I'm willing to learn,so please any suggestions on diamond plate PLEASE HELP. Thank you.

    Re: Diamond Plate Toolbox

This is what I did today.

Collinite metal wax, 2--4 inch carpet scraps and a terry cloth towel. First scrap was used to apply wax and to rub out. Went forward/backward, side to side and then diagonally following the diamond pattern. Second scrap was used to remove polish---same deal---back/forth, side to side and diagonally. And finished off with terry cloth towel to high luster. The carpet scraps were tossed and a fresh set was used for the next section.

Pics should give you an idea...

    Thanks...

Kind of sore tonight! Chuckle---too much elbow grease!

But really happy how it all came out. The crew at Classic Muscle Garage were shocked at the transformation.

Told them it was witchcraft---Bat dung and dead toads.

Good idea on making use of that old carpet. I wouldn't have thought of that, it sure beats sacrificing any microfibers. I'm planning to do the same to my friends trailer which he uses to tow his boat. Diamond Plate Toolbox

If you have the time to rub out, yes. It's cheap and yes, saves your pad and it is cleaner overall as well.

And don't forget the bat dung and toads...!
