Flex PE8 vs Rupes Mini
Does anyone know if Flex is going to come out with something to compete against the Rupes Mini? I know they have the Flex PE8 but it would be nice is they came out with a DA.

They just released there first free spinning orbital in the xfe7 15mm
If they do make a mini da it's not going to be for a while, there are releasing new machines this year, and one of those hasn't been announced.
For now your options are
Griots garage 3 inch
Flex Kompakt
Rupes lhr75e

My next machine is a pe8, a 3" ro can be done with a GG6.

Re: Flex PE8 vs Rupes Mini
From my understanding, the next focus for Flex is the release of the XCE 9-8 150, a forced rotation upgrade of the 3401. It would not surprise me to see Flex eventually compete with the smaller diameter free floating market. They already have the PE-8 which is a small diameter rotary polisher.

Re: Flex PE8 vs Rupes Mini
I would love to see a mini version of these new tools that are now being released.
Imagine smaller versions that look & operate just like the full size counterparts but run 3" pads. Heck, I would be happy with full size bodies that run 3" pads.

You also have a few Chinese made copies of the Rupe's LRH75e to choose from now with 12mm of orbital throw

Any particular aversion to picking up the LHR75E from us? Seems if there isn't a competitive tool available in the DA segment then the decision is all but made for you right?

Why go through the Hassel of buying a Chinese copy, your going to spend almost the same amount of money, as the real one, and what happens when it breaks? Or you need it fixed who do you call ? You just threw money down the toilet.
I forked over the extra 100 dollars and got the lhr75e a proven tool with a real company behind them.
Not to mention your supporting autogeek by purchasing from them and they have fantastic customer service them selfs.

Re: Flex PE8 vs Rupes Mini
I love my Rupes Mini, I couldn't detail w/o it. I have a PE8, I live w/o it all the time. I hate it. Way to much power and very dangerous, it'll cook paint and pads in seconds. You have to pay 100% attention the whole time you use the Flex, one slip and you'll pay for it. It also torques in your hand.
So for me it's the Mini all day long.
Also, a GG6 with a 3" BP and 3" pad is a rattle trap, it'll beat your wrist to death and wobble all over the place. I'm not saying it can't be done but you're better off with 3.5" BP and 4" pads and it will still work you over and no way does it correct anywhere close to the Mini. My comments are from first hand testing of the GG6 in that configuration with 3" and 3.5" Lake Country backing plates vs. my Mini.
