Thats the only reason I am looking to recoop some money on the Flex.
I have the Flex 3401, some pads, and the autogeek detailing bag I am looking to sell and then would buy the Rupes complete detailing package.
keep in mind if you buy a long stroke polisher you'll be limited to areas you can polish due to the backing plate/pad options (should be an additional polisher not the only one). with the flex you can use anywhere from 4" - 6.5" pads (with the appropriate backing plates) which will cover most basis around your vehicle and being forced rotation it will not stop spinning (pad stall) as well...

I think the Flex is intimidating for beginners who don’t want to damage their paint. I’m a beginner and have the same fear, legit or not?

Hey amalik.
No. The Flex 3401 is a beautifully engineered tool, it’s ergonomically brilliant & bulletproof in terms of reliability. You shouldn’t be intimidated at all - in my opinion you would have to be really trying to damage your paint to do so. I think if Mike had any doubts about the safety of teaching people that have had no experience with any type of tool with the Flex 3401 or even the Flex PE-14 for that matter in his 3 Day Competition Ready classes on some pretty special cars, I really don’t think he would do so.

Re: Flex 3401
The 3401 is a beast of a tool. Can't deny the forced rotation. I'm currently in the long throw phase, so my 3401 is sitting, but I will never sell it.

Not sure what you situation is, I'm just saying what I've seen over the years in the blogosphere.

Re: Flex 3401
I went from a PC 7424 to a Flex 3401. I am not a pro. It took me about two minutes to get used to the Flex. The Flex also saved me a couple of hours whenever I polished a car, I got used to that real quick also.

Re: Flex 3401
Id say just hold off and stash some cash away and buy the Rupes on down the road. I was in the same boat a few months back. I have both now and wouldn't part with either one, I love the Rupes but I promise you Id be pissed had I gotten rid of the 3401.
