    Flex xfe 15

I’m interested in this Flex XFE 15 tool. I need a long throw tool in my arsenal. I really love my other Flex tools, just looking for suggestions on this one. What backing plate is best for it? Looks like it comes with a 6 inch and you can get it with LC Thin Pro Pads?

Those of of you who have this tool, what pads and backing plate would you recommend? Appreciate any and all your suggestions.

    Mike

That's how I use it. Get the optional smaller 5" FLEX backing plate and use with 5.5" ThinPro pads or the 5.5" Meguiar's thin pads or the Griot's Garage 5.5" BOSS thin foam pads.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the information. Is the 5” FLEX backing plate I see on Autogeek’s website a factory FLEX backing plate? I’m gonna order this tool, I’d like to get it with a factory FLEX 5” backing plate. Can I get this tool in the HD version?

    Yes it’s a factory plate.

HD, not currently (I don’t think)

Wasn't impressed with it when using HDO pads on a 6 in plate, but never tried it with the 5in/thinpro combo.
That combo could make all the difference.

I also feel flex fubar'd the OPM specs with this machine just like they did with the 3401

6in plate it feels just like a Rupes ES in reguards to stall ability

XFE-7 with a 5" plate with the B&S uro-tec pads. Maroon is one of the the most versatile pads out right now! Yellow is fantastic too!
