    No.

    Totally different attachment method.

Griot's 2" backing plate uses a 5/16 threaded stud as does the full size Griot's polisher.

The FLEX 3" Mini Polisher uses a slotted backing plate that fits onto a slotted spindle and is then held on with a bolt.

    Hope that helps...

    Re: 2" Backing Plate

I'm sure this is inappropriate based on the forum rules, but if you want create your own 2" 12mm long throw DA the Zentool 3" 12mm DA (Rupe's Mini copy) uses the normal 5/16 threaded stud that the Griot's 2" backing plate will thread into.

I have a Zentool 3" that I purchased as a back up and for my son to use when he helps me. Its not the quality of the Rupe's or Flex, but the power is fine and it has lasted me for about 3 years now. It is a totally functional polisher it gets used all the time.

I have been wanting to purchase the 2" BP and pad kit and additional pads since they announced the new products, but haven't spent the coin yet (waiting on tax return). I am hoping the 2" pads will work okay on the Flex PE-8 with the Flex 2" BP and are not too thin.

I am planning on using the 2" BP on the GG3, but I have been wondering how they will work with the Zentool and the 12mm. Hopefully I'll know within the next month or so.

So would that mean new flex mini, 75E, and Adams mini can be 2in too?

No, just the Zentool mini. It uses a 5/16” thread like the Griot’s 2” backing plate.

I've did this on a Adams SK mini with both Griot 2in plate and rotary to danadoer and flex 2in plate.. both had too much vibration for my liking

I tried the 2” on the Adam’s MINI as well and agree about the vibration. The GG3 is actually pretty solid with the 2” backing. Anything larger and it’s pretty worthless, IMO. I reserve it strictly for 2” pads.

FWIW, I’m now using the CG hyper flex 3” backing plate with my Adam’s MINI and it really upped the rotation of all pads.
