Swirls marks no matter what I do..

So I had a 2014 Mercedes black in color come in for paint correction and I used a DE Walt 849 with a wool pad and compound I then followed it with a black foam pad with the same compound then I tried a makita bo6040 with the black pad and same compound and noticed it had swirl marks very fine still so I changed to my flex 3401 and I noticed I still have the same problem yet if I take my Porter cable 7424 with that same pad it will look perfect why is this that the flex and the makita are both causing swirl marks this is happened on A brand new Chevy Colorado and a late model Corvette any suggestions are appreciated..

It used to not be this way I used to change pads after the using a makita or flex to another black pad and put my wax and be done with it

It might be a combination of things. Most notably the action of the tool combined with the type of abrasive you're using. There were times using the 3401 where I was having finishing issues with M205. Not that it was a clear finish, it was that I wasn't getting the gloss that I wanted. I switched to the 7424, and it worked out.

I preferred Menzerna SF4000 to finish on the 3401.

Sometimes I stop asking why and just be glad I found what works and fortunately you have what works. Most of the time it's these very helpful guys on here who get me to the point of "finding what's works ".

What are you using for abrasive technology?

    That’s what, 4 or 5 compounding steps?

Better break out that paint meter before you go any further.

As to the swirls, may be related to the combination of the clear and your technique (arm speed or pressure) or cleanliness (cleaning on the fly).

The pc is less sensitive to the cleaning because it’s cutting less residue for the pad to drag around.

As mentioned I'd look at the abraisive tech you're using
If you are indeed using a quality compound/polish I'd than assume you'd need to switch to a 8mm free spin or longthrow (w.e you have on hand) sometimes 8mm forced just doesn't finish well on certain paints
