Judging by Mike's videos it looks like it has plenty of power to keep the pad spinning, even when it was polishing the wheel surfaces.

One of the nice things about Flex is that they're "universal" in that they don't have specific pads and polishes to accompany the tools.

It's great to see them expand their line to accommodate a wide variety of tool types with their excellent build quality. Sure there have been a couple concerns with the xfe7, but seeing them respond the way they have is remarkable. They always seem to make things right.

I actually seen this about a month ago on Face Book, felt it wasn't my place to make the announcement!

They posted these photos on facebook when they went on that tour.

I thought any day they would do a official announcement. can't wait to read official specs. and to try it!

They may do that later. Look how long it took Flex to come out with the 4 3/16" backing plate for the XC3401.

On the other hand, it may not be practical to have a 1" pad on a DA. The 1" pad is very small, and the oscillations of the polisher may make that hard to control. I am looking at the PE8, a rotary, for pads below 3". Being rotary it would be a lot easier to control, and extensions could be used to get into some very tight spaces, and 1", 2", and 3" backing plates and pads already exist for it..
