    Flex PE14-2-150 speed dial problem

My Flex rotary seems to be stuck in the fastest setting. I've tried dismantling and cleaning the guts. No luck. Someone suggested the carbon brushes needs replacement but before i commit to buying them, has anyone had the same problem?

    thanks.

if you can't get it fixed, try calling (google) powerhouse distributing in Omaha, NE. they've been an authorized flex repair facility/center since the beginning...

Probably the electronic module is busted.
Try to contact them, buy the part, and fix it in your country.
    Is it 110v or 230v?

It is not gonna be easy to find this part, since the 110v module won't work on the 230v.
Therefore, forget about finding it in US.
Try to contact Flex Germany directly, and explain your problem.
If the polisher is 230V 50hz, and your power grid runs on 60hz, avoid running on max speed, never go more than 5.
    Best regards

Please do not do anything other than buy a FLEX machine that's designated for your country. Using a transformer to bring the power down so you can use your machine will kill the speed module every time.

I too was in the same boat as you. I have U.S. spec machines and currently live in Germany where 230v is used. Before I did anything with the machine I sent an email over to FLEX about my situation. They responded against using a transformer with the machine as it will take out the speed control. The best course of action is to use a machine from my market as it is designed to work with the power supply that we have here.

Luckily for me I have access to both 110v and 220v and can use the proper power supply for my machines without issue.

Just sharing my situation so you have a heads up.

    Thanks for the info.

I purchased the machine before it was available in my country. Took the advice from someone here of using a step down transformer and since then, had absolutely no issues with it until just recently, about 2 months ago. All these years it worked fine but I wasn't aware that Flex did not recommend it.

The unit costs over 600 bucks here and although I did consider buying a new one, all my backing plates are in imperial which would not be suited for the machine sold here which are in metric.

I'm willing to purchase another 110v module just to get me going again.

    cheers
