Re: Flex PE14-2-150 speed dial problem

    Just to chime in...

I've spoken to Bob Eichelberg about this issue in the past and he states the exact thing Mike said and the problem starts with the host country's electrical system.

Fixing your PE14 and then using it with the step down transformer will just lead to the tool malfunctioning again.

If you like the compact size, RPM range, fit and finish of the FLEX PE14 and plan on doing buffing work with a rotary buffer for the long run the the best solution would be to purchase a FLEX PE14 built for and sold in your country.

Not sure if that helps but that is the reality of the deal.

That's exactly where I got my information from. The man himself Bob Eichelberg. Not only from him but others at FLEX while there in person.
    Smack tours Flex-tools GmbH Germany!

I Wanted to share with the OP my situation so he had an idea of what he is doing.

I also agree the best course of action would be to buy the machine from his market. Using the transformer will take out the speed control. Its just a matter of when the speed control kicks the bucket when used in this method.
