    It will be fine if you have the right technique. Otherwise look for a DA polisher.

    I'm a hobbyist/enthusiast as well, with today's technology in DA's, compounds and pads I'd DEFINITELY choose a DA over a rotary. It's a lot safer and DA's these days with microfiber pads can even pull out 3000 grit sand paper marks. Unless you already have a DA and just looking to add to your arsenal then I'm sure one from FLEX is a great choice.

    My buddy just purchased one when I got the flex 3401
    I played around with it quickly ,
    It's really smooth and seems pretty safe on speed 2 and 3 with foam pad
    First time I used rotary and damn the panels got warm allot quicker then my G21

    Got my pink flex3401 and it get warm almost as fast as the rotary

    I think you would be fine with the PE8.

    Since the mini Hybrid pads launched, I would grab just the PE8, the extension, 1" bp and then equip it with the 1" Hybrid pads.
