I've shared this in the forum world in the past but here goes again...
I met Chip probably 17 or 18 years ago when I was wet sanding, cutting and buffing the Titanic for the R&M auction for Terry Cook. I also prepped Terry's other car for auction, Scrape, which is in the Petersen Museum.
Anyway, fast forward 4-5 years and I met with Chip at his shop in Huntington Beach while I was working for Meguiar's. Chip asked me over to talk to me about working for him, doing all the wet sanding, cutting and buffing at his shop. We never worked out a deal and I stayed at Meguiar's till I left and came to Autogeek. So I've known him for a long time and I've worked on a number of his cars. He one time offered to design me a custom artificial leg, I should have taken him up on that offer. My nickname with Chip is Robo, as in Robo Cop but I relate more to the Terminator than Robo Cop.
I met Dave Kindig the last two years at SEMA at the Velocity Cocktail Parties and then this year I was also invited to the Velocity Dinner and Dave was there. I've never worked with him or on any of his cars but he's super nice to talk to. When I first met Dave and he saw my polished leg he said, "bitchin ride". LOL.
I've known Chris via Detail Fest for 2 years. Like Chip he's very down to earth.
I've known Wayne Carini for about 4-5 years. I trained the guys at his shop how to use all the cool tools we all take for granted. When I first went to Wayne's shop the only tool they had for car detailing was an old Black & Decker rotary buffer. I also personally restored the paint on his 1953 Hudson.
Mike Brewer - I see Mike every year at SEMA, he wasn't at this last SEMA show. I worked with him at last year's Benedict Castle Concours show. Super nice guy. Mike and Ed know me two ways, one they know me because of my 1966 Chevy Milk Truck, the other is they know me as the guy with the chrome leg.
This car show will be a lot of work, I know it looks like it's all fun and games but it's actually a lot of work with a full schedule for all three days. I'm very much looking forward to it.
I'll be at Mobile Tech Expo from this Wednesday to Sunday. Sunday is the Board of Director's meeting for IDA Board of Directors, which I am one.
Drive back Sunday night.
Shoot Gyeon videos all day on Monday.
Fly out to California on Tuesday.
Shoot and episode of TV on Wednesday.
Thursday is kind of an off day but we'll be setting up at the car show for Friday.
Friday - all day - we're shooting an episode of Competition Ready.
Saturday and Sunday work with Chip, Chris, Mike, Dave and Wayne at the show.
Fly back on Monday
Tuesday, Wednesday play catch-up at work.
Thursday and Friday set up for the Marine 31 Boat Detailing Class.
Saturday - Teach the boat detailing class.
Sunday - A day off
The next week, making plans to shoot more TV in Sacramento
Then on the 17th, 18th and 19th - my 3-day Competition Ready Class.
Monday after the Comp Ready class is IDA SV Testing here at Autogeek.
Tuesday, Feb 21st is a day off
Wednesday, Feb 22nd fly out to the GoodGuys Spring Nationals to film more TV
And then comes March and Detail Fest.
So kind of busy...
This is kind of cool too... this is a billboard somewhere in SoCal

That is quite the schedule! You are going to wear out a pair of Nikes in CA alone
I hope you get long stretches of days off to spend with your family and friends.
