What dressing did you put on those side mirror covers? They look great! And how long does it last?

I start with Collinite 870 then 476S. Then glfnaz gave me a sample of Optimum Car Wax spray that I use randomly but at least once a month over the 476S. Those mirrors along with every exterior plastic on that Toyota have been a real challenge over the years. With the above combination it is somewhere around 3 months before they stain again and I start the cycle over again. It is a lot better than two weeks or so that I would get with other products. Now the Dodge truck gets 845, 476S or 885 and seems to last forever without the OCW treatment. There is just a big difference in plastic quality between those two vehicles.

Since this Collinite discussion is going I would like to share my wheel well discovery for what it is worth. These wells are going on 4 months or so thru all kinds of weather and a quick boars hair brush and DG's 932 No Rinse cleans them. I first washed them to get rid of the things that do not belong there. Second step is to clean them with 870 then apply either 476S or 885. I have not tried 845 but it may very well be just as good.

Since doing this routine the wells stay amazingly clean.

My uncle has a Toyota Sienna too and absolutely hate those side mirror covers. They fade and stain so easily.

Wait, you apply 476S on plastic surfaces like that side mirror cover? It doesn't turn them white? Waxing them will be the last thing I'd think of trying. But clearly it works!

He probably has the problem with the rear hatch step also, same sequence applies only the initial may require 920 first to remove all the dead plastic. This is the after shot

There is no white residue with Collinite that I have found on anything.
