    1. Check all fluid levels.
    2. Check tires / tire pressure.
    3. Apply sealant.
    4. Emergency kit. Munchies. Blanket. Flashlight. Other useful odds n ends.
    5. Don't drive in dangerous conditions if possible. (I appreciate mandated workers. Thank you for your work).
    6. Take time to wash car off of there are warmer days.

Re: RUPES Best Off-Season Prep Tip Contest!

Living in the Pacific Northwest we have rain/snow 6 months out of the year. It's difficult.
The best thing you can do winter wise is to keep it clean. Even when it rains or before it snows, it's best to keep it consistantly clean in order to prevent road salt damage, heavy water spots, dirt/grime build up, etc. Newer products such as ceramic coatings which allow for a hydrophobic glass coating layer (1-2mils depending on how many coats are applied) to be applied to the clear coat to allow and extra layer of protection.
These coatings allow for extreme water repellency and protection from most road hazards.
These products do however require proper maintenance or else the protective layer could be damaged.
If you feel you are skilled enough to try these products, it's a very good way to protect your investment through the fall and winter months.

Re: RUPES Best Off-Season Prep Tip Contest!

I usually use one of several versions of the standard Rinseless Wash technique. My most common one, I'll take a Waterless Wash and spray the car as a pre-soak. I will then use a Rinseless Microfiber Wash Mitt with a single bucket rinseless solution to wash the car. When I want to use car soap, I will pull out the Kwaazar foamer and use it as a substitute for my foam gun. Then from their I can take a bucket with rinseless solution to wash the vehicle. Sometimes I'll use two buckets depending on the situation. If it calls for two buckets from my judgement, I'll more likely fill one bucket with a lighter than usual amount of car soap using the Chenille Wash Mitt to wash the car. Then I will use the second bucket, filled with Rinseless Wash to rinse the car off, using a seperate mitt.

I will use my dedicated tire and wheel bucket filled up with rinseless solution as well. I can spray the wheel with an All Purpose Cleaner and then clean and rinse with a microfiber towel.

I have also been known to pull out waterproofed clothing and use the hose in the 30s and 40s with no regrets lol!

I couldn't edit my original post in that how-to thread. I wanted to add links on my own "how-to" articles regarding waterless and rinseless washing. So instead, I'll post them up here:
