2 Boats in HORRIBLE condition needed for 2019 Boat Detailing Class

2 Boats in HORRIBLE condition needed for 2019 Boat Detailing Class

This class is a ways out but it's incredibly difficult to find just the right boats.

What does the right boat look like? Just like this only longer, this is a 21' Trophy and I could use TWO 24" Center Consoles, with DARK gel-coats that have visibly turned white with oxidation.

Dialing in my Test Spot for the Saturday/Sunday Boat Detailing Class.

This is for the 21' Trophy - probably the WORST condition boat we've ever used for a class.

This is the new SCANGRIP Colormatch light - lighting up the side of the hull

    That's ugly....

So right NOW I'm looking for two really bad condition center console boats in the 24' to 26' range that have a medium to dark colored gel-coat finish that is badly oxidized.

Boat detailing – where do I start?
Surely you’ve asked yourself that question, or else you wouldn’t be researching and reading about the best boat detailing classes in the first place. We have an answer for that question, and it’s at Autogeek's Boat Detailing Class.

    Tools? You like tools?
Our one-day boat detailing class provides an in-depth look at boat detailing inside and out. You'll get thorough instructions on how to properly machine sand a boat, remove sanding marks and oxidation with a high speed rotary polisher, machine-apply a wax using a dual action polisher, and more!

We'll go over how to use the Flex 3401 for production boat detailing.

You'll get to use the RUPES BigFoot 21 for creating a show car finish on black gel-coat boats.

We'll go over machine sanding using the Flex 3401 (that's right we're going to machine sand with the Flex 3401) and the Porter Cable 7424XP Polisher.

For sanding you'll learn how to use the Mirka Abralon Sanding Discs by machine and by hand. You'll also learn why it's smarter to machine sand heavily oxidized gel-coat boats versus compound with a rotary buffer.

    Limited Class Size
The class size will be limited to give everyone an opportunity to ask questions and practice the techniques. The class will be held in the fully equipped Autogeek Show Car Garage located at our headquarters in Stuart, Florida.

    These are intense hands-on classes!

We cannot emphasis enough that these are very HANDS-ON classes so get a good night's sleep the night before the class and be ready to learn and have fun!

Note: This will be the only boat detailing class for 2019.

Re: 2 Boats in HORRIBLE condition needed for 2019 Boat Detailing Class

    ***Daily Bump***

I know it's hard to understand how it can be so difficult to find a GREAT hands-on training boat for a boat detailing class when we live smack-dab in the middle of the Boat Capital of the World.

But as the guy that has obtained all the boats in the past and has done all the talking, e-mailing and networking it takes to make a boat magically show up a day or two before the class, I know first hand... it is difficult.

So starting today I'll be sending the link to this thread out to all my boat buddies so as they come across anyone with a boat that meets the criteria for a great hands-on boat detailing class, including,

A: Trust us with their boat.

B: The boat is a medium to dark colored gel-coat with such severe oxidation that the pigmented polyester resin has turned white.

C: Trailer their boat here for the dates of the class.

And then we'll cross our fingers, no schedule conflicts takes place at the last moment.

So to all my boat buddies that receive the link to this thread and know of a boat please contact me.

Also feel free to send the link to this thread to anyone that you know of that has a boat that fits the above 3 criteria.

    mike.phillips@Autogeek.net

    Thank you!

Your boat will look AMAZING after our class does and extreme makeover to it as documented via all our past classes.
