Technique question

I work with a lot of boats but just curious about other people input/advice. How to get the most cut out of a rubbing compound on gelcoat. I'm using a rotary and wool comp pad. How much pressure, buffer speed, amount of product used ect.. I usually deal with a lot of heavily oxidized and or scratched/swirled boats.

When I have an extremely oxidized hull I will prep with TSP. I mist whole hull then wash. It really cuts down on amount of dead gel coat that has to be removed.As far as extending working time of product I use a spray bottle of water. Wetsanding entre hull will save time and permanently remove oxidation with proper maintenance thereafter. I like working on gelcoats because it is very forgiving. There is a reason why rotary rpms go to 3000 and beyond.
