Rupes blue vs foamed wool pad with Marine 31 compound and polish

What would be a better all around pad for a a 5.5" G6? I'm asking because of friend wants to borrow my G6 to do the deck of his boat. Boat is in pretty good shape. Oxidation is on the light side if you even want to call it oxidation.

It seems like the consensus from what I have read from Mike is the Rupes blue but I know how well wool works with my DeWalt rotary on the sides that it makes me wonder?

    Thanks in advance!

If all a person has is the Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital Polisher and they want to remove oxidation, then I would start with the RUPES wool pads and then finish with the RUPES blue foam pads.

    Cut and then polish

Fibers are always MORE abrasive than foam.

    Start with these,

4 each - 6 inch RUPES Coarse Blue Wool Polishing Pad
6 inch RUPES Coarse Wool Polishing Pad

    Finish with these,

4 each - 6 inch RUPES Coarse Blue Wool Polishing Pad
Rupes 150 mm (6 inch) Blue Coarse Foam Pad

Use this and have your friend thank me later,

    1 each - Marine 31 Captain’s One-Step Compound & Polish
captains compound, one step boat compound polish, compound for black boat

Then seal boat with either a sealant or a coating

    Mike,

I have a 32 Regulator center console that’s 14yo . I’ve owned it since new. I typically do a two step each year with a diminishing compound and a polymer sealant. I have a wheel and will be buying a Supa BEAST this spring. Oxidation is pretty much only whatever happens from the previous seasons use of 8 months then it is wrapped to the chine for 4 months. Usually cut and polish with wool on the wheel with a diminishing compound and then hand seal. I’m not a pro but people call me nuts for the amount of time I put into making it look good.

This year the hull sides and gunwale tops will get the typical 2 step but I would like to do a 3 step on the floor, t top, and the entire inside of the boat to remove some minor yellowing. Again I’ll be cutting and polishing with wool and sealing with the Sbeast and blue rupes.

My questions for you are how many of the above pads would you recommend I have on hand for this as well as how many of the rupes course blue for sealing. Secondly, I would like to try the Menzerna marine products for the 3 step process on the interior but I don’t see them listed on the site. Do you carry these?

PS Going to be doing this in sections on weekends.

    T top first
Interior hull sides, console, and leaning post second
    Topside gunwales third
    Floor fourth
    Exterior hull sides last
