    Cordless Buffing

Looking for a cordless buffer recommendation . I do not have electricity conveniently located to work on my 25ft Cobalt. Some light oxidation (boat is 5 years old, fresh water only, stored inside 7 months as it is a short season up north for boating). I have a flex 3401 coming this week for use on cars (too bad no where to plug in for use on boat). Just ordered Mike’s book on detailing boats.

Not a lot to choose from. I've heard thr Griot's lacks power and only runs at one speed. I would go with this one or the DA version. Since it's a boat and you already have a DA I would go with the rotary.mit will cut the oxidation faster.

    Re: Cordless Buffing

Just remember that you need a electric outlet even with the cordless polishers. So you can recharge the batteries you use. With the Flex cordless polishers you get around 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour from 2 5amp batteries. So a outlet near or if they could charge 12v outlets maybe. The generator could be an option to either recharge batteries or power a corded polisher.

Is your boat currently in the water?

If so, is it possible to haul it and trailer it to a location that does have power available?
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

    Re: Cordless Buffing

Flex should have either upped the voltage or at least upped the AH to like 6+
Hell we have 120v cordless mowers, line trimmer, leaf blowers..
    A 40V for a cordless polisher wouldn't be bad

Torx hyper shot has a compact 40v battery
