42 yellow fin black hull test spot

    Did a test spot yesterday.

Here's with 4 steps. Mikita with electrified LC wool with 3m super duty then flex 3401 with LC foamed purple and 3m super duty then Flex 3401 with LC orange with 3m perfect it then flex 3401 with LC green pad and presta ultra cutting light. This gel coat with extreamly hard to cut.

Might need to resort to wet sanding especially since I have to take a huge decal off and blend it.

    Looks much better.

In my Marine 31 how to detail boats book I put boats into 4 catagores.

When the condition of the gel-coat falls into catagory #4 I recommend machine sanding and then compounding as it's easier on you, does a better job and is faster overall with better results that last longer.

So looking at this boat you would see that it falls into category 4? That's what it feels like to me. Each stage I did over 6 passes. 1 pass being up down left right.
