Blackfire - Wet Ice over Fire - Re-application

    Hello,

I've applied the Blackfire Wet Ice over Fire system to my 2008 corvette about 2 years ago. I'm extremely happy with this product, but, I'm starting to see some swirls, and water is not beading like it used to, so I want to re-apply the same product. I'm not sure if I should start over and repeat the same steps (1 - Clay bar, 2 - paint cleaner, 3 - paint sealant, and finally Carnauba wax). Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Welcome to AGO.

If you are seeing swirls then you will need to use at a minimum an abrasive polish to remove the. Then proceed with your blackfire combination.

Are you going to be working by hand or machine (dual action polisher)? I ask because the paint on corvette's is on the hard side.

    Thanks Guz.

I'm using a dual action polisher. I have all the pads, so I can try the white pad with polish, or the orange pad with compound if necessary. I'm relatively new to this so I am concerned about burning through the clear coat, but if you say the paint is hard on the vette, then maybe I don't need to worry?

    Thanks, appreciate your reply.

You still have to worry. It will just take a little more work to remove them. Go with a test spot with a polish as you mentioned and go from there. Don't forget to post up photos when you are all done.

I miss the combo on the wife's Kia.

If I wasn't spending my time working on the backyard....
