    Blackfire or HD

Black Chevy pickup and wanting to try some different polishing and finishing products. Would you go with Blackfire or HD? I have not used either products before.

Never used Blackfire but really enjoy Speed and One. Great results with both... change the pad up for more or less cut.

Honestly both are really good. Can’t go wrong with either choice.

I have no experience with HD, but I have used the Blackfire Polish and Compound. I really like them and get great results. My only gripe with Blackfire is the size of the bottles; 32oz is far too much product for me. The previous generation of their products was sold in 16oz bottles which was a better fit for my usage levels.

No experience with BF, but will always love HD Speed.

Many guys touting the BF, including Mike P himself, so I'm sure it is just as good.

But, Im with Nate. As a hobbyist, I don't want or need a 32oz. bottle. My 16oz HD Speed will probably be used up next month when I do the truck and wife's Jeep. (Bought the bottle in 2016!)
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Also a hobbyist here, and I agree with Paul. I've used mostly HD products (Compound, Polish, Speed) and really have come to rely on them. Ironically, my 16 oz bottle (also 2016 vintage) is expected to be finished off this Spring. I will DEFINITELY be buying another one. (I've been using them with Buff & Shine Orange light polish pads on a Buick and Nissan.)

I have used BlackFire Total Polish and Seal (AIO, I believe it's been replaced with BF One Step), and liked it. My lone complaint is that I have a shaded driveway to work in, so the ability to use Speed in the sun make a HUGE difference in what I can get done.

I do prefer BF pad cleaner, and had lukewarm results with a sample of BF tire dressing.

Best of luck, and keep up posted with how you fare.

ALSO, consider Poorboy's Black Hole glaze for a black vehicle. (HD Polish, Black Hole, Wax). You won't be disappointed.

    Re: Blackfire or HD

I've been using McKee's 360. Speed is really good too but the 360 has significantly better durability at the expense of a little cut. If the BF came in a smaller bottle I'd try it but as it is, I don't use a 16oz bottle of 360 in the course of a year and that's maintaining 3 vehicles.

Picking between Speed and BF may come down to what your next LSP is planned as. BF I think lasts longer but you can probably add certain sealants on top later without additional prep, whereas there’s been some instances where users said Speed didn’t let a sealant bond very well. Waxes should be fine on either.
