I have been looking at these since SEMA last year and the air models as well. Glad to see Kevin is importing them for the US market. Nice well built machines.

Wow that is a lot of money for a D/A. That's awfully close to Flex 3401 money.

it's Italian engineering and we all know that isn't cheap. i'm curious how it will stack up against the Flex. the only downside (correct me if i'm wrong) is you aren't able to change out the backing plate...

    Re: Rupes random orbital

I used one at the NXTi training a couple weeks ago and I'm on the list for one from Kevin Brown. $394 + $5 shipping. Bad a$$ machine!!!

It blows the Flex away! With the 21mm offset you would not want a smaller backing plate on it either. It's not the end all be all of tools that's great for everything everything, tight areas being on of them, but it IS one heck of a tool! Hop on Kevin's Facebook page for more info.

Here are a few pics of it in action at the NXTi training.

    Rasky,
What do you think makes it impressive? The throw, power, 'feel', speeds, etc.?

Very little vibration and ability to cut fast while still finishing down very well, which is something the Flex lacked IMO.

The correction it achieved on Bryans rental car above with D300 and a MF finishing pad were amazing, and it was pretty much LSP ready.

Pic of the guts with the backing plate removed (borrowed from Kevin's FB page )

It's almost like looking at the engine of a fine Italian sports car!
