    paging killrwheels!

-first off, don't let the dealer wash the car. that will do nothing more than swirl the crap out of your brand new car (not something you want to do!).
-get a foam gun, a good soap (i use poorboy's), and a bunch of good sheepskins (walmart's eurow brand is very good). learn how to use all three in combination to wash your new vette without inducing swirling.
-buy a good glaze product. I actually prefer to hide defects than to actually remove them. As long as the car is perfect, who cares how you got there? besides, by hiding, you save clearcoat vs polishing it off.
-whatever color you end up buying, run some searches/ask around to see what products look good on that color.

ya, that should get you started

I think that Neothin has given you a start on a stellar way to maintain your vehicle. Wash technique is the best way to avoid marring and maintain a swirl free vehicle.

If I were to choose just one line of products I would choose Poorboy's since it has everything. They all work, easy to apply, protect well, last a long time, and look very good. I do use a lot of other products. Yet, not one other line has as many things to offer. Yet many lines have products that work well too. The best bang for the buck is Poorboy's in my book.

Do you searches and you will soon see what I mean. There is a products to do almost anything if you are willing to do the leg work to find the ones that satisfy your tastes.

I offer this kit to alot of the corvetteforum members for a couple of reasons. First, you love how easy each product is to use. Second, you have almost everything but soap and clay in one kit. And finally, you have the opportunity to buy it with or without a buffer. Sure we have other kits and they are all great and fill specific areas, but getting someone accustomed to detailing with super products that are easy means that more than likely you will continue.

I know that you were not asking me specifically but I would definitely recommend Poorboy's over Pinnacle for the reasons that I have already stated.

I have both. I use the Poorboy's products and the Pinnacle products are in a box stored in the attic.

Depends which kit and what is included. Poorboys products are very easy to use together. That said, they are nowhere near as eye pleasing as Souveran And Sig Series on a carnuaba level. Nattys Blue aint bad .... but I dont find it as rewarding as some others on the board, but Souveran spoils me a I personally dont care about pricing versus best intial look. But it is as durable as Pinnacle. With Pinnacle I prefer the new XMT line for polishes personally. Again just my .02
