The Cool Detailing Cart in Autogeek's Show Car Garage!

The Cool Detailing Cart in Autogeek's Show Car Garage!

I get asked all the time what the heck that roll-around tool cart is out in the studio?

It's a Snap-On brand, Blue-Point Under Hood, Rolling Service Tray

    Stock #: BLPUHST
    Price: $170.75 plus shipping

    Description
    • 24" leg clearance allows the service tray to slide under the hood from the front or the side of vehicle.
    • Parts dividers and screwdriver holders built in the tray.
    • Protective bumpers included for top tray and support post.
    • 3" heavy duty swivel casters.
    • Height adjustable support post adjusts from 35.8" to 48.4" for the tray to clear the fender or front end of most vehicles.
    • EVA pads in all tray compartments.
    • Patent pending.
    • Dimensions (fully assembled): 29.5" L x 26.0" W x 48.4" H
    • Maximum load capacity: 75 lbs. (34 kg)

Here's a few pictures, the cart is a indispensable for shooting videos and handy as heck for detailing cars.

Holds tools and products for easy reach...

    Snap-On's "Blue-Point" sub-brand...

I use the adjusting handle for sliding the tray up and down to also hold my cords when I'm not using polishers.

The legs are wide to fit around most tires and provide stability...

You can adjust the tray to raise and lower to fit most cars...

Here you can see the tray is adjusted so the bottom support frame won't damage any part of the body panels of the car...

Will it easily break down for transport? being that Im mobile Ive been looking for a small cart,or at least one that breaks down. I have plenty of room in the trailer but would be nice if the top tray folded down.
    thanks

If you call undoing 8 tightened 9/16" bolts and nuts "easy" then yes.

It is made from a heavy gage steel.

didn't think of it before but depending on the width of the bottom legs i can just slide the bottom under my tank an the top would go right over it.

Might work, I can measure the width and post it today, if it's close it looks like you could modify your tank stand a little.

Anyone found a less costly alternative ($170 plus shipping) to this, or any chance AG will develop a lower cost replica?

edit: apparently Craftsman used to have one:
Craftsman Portable Automotive Service Tray | Toolmonger
    but no longer available.

Griot's has one that looks to be similar for about $90.
