Re: Frequently Asked Questions - UDOS RANDOM ORBIT POLISHER

6 to 7 hundred beans is a lot of zort!

    Unanswered questions:

Warrantee. Please don't tell me one year.

    Source of Manufacture?, probably China,

    Construction, most likely all plastic.

Backing Plate, probably proprietary, no others fit.

Bail or Stick Handles? Optional, maybe should be included at the projected asking price.

Internal Bearings? Maybe 2? Maybe none.?

    Backing Plates included, 1, 2, ?

    Sorry to be a skeptic.

    Sorry for my earlier skepticism.

Looks like a very attractive machine. More choices are always better.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions - UDOS RANDOM ORBIT POLISHER

Despite sounding a little negative those are all fair questions.

I would assume it's made in China. Warranty is a great question, especially since the durability of the variable throw distance is unknown. We'll have to wait and see. Will be interesting to see some hands-on regarding usability, noise, vibration, etc.

I'm sure Mike will be one of the first to use one and I expect he'll post info here.

Does anyone else think $700 is a little crazy? At $700 I’m not a player.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions - UDOS RANDOM ORBIT POLISHER

$700 is very steep. Then again, what does it cost to have 8mm, 15mm, and 21mm machines? This is less expensive than 3 machines. Also less space, and you don't have to swap machines when you need different throw for a section. For pros having multiple machines may be better (2 people can work concurrently, you have a backup if one stops working).

Power rating and OPM would be nice to know, real figures not Flex type inflated ones.

Sorry but no. LC has not shared that info with anyone that I'm aware of.

Thank you for further reflection. We are finalizing many things on this machine. A couple things I can tell you for sure, never at any point was the idea or the goal to visit China to make this a reality. This was designed by multiple engineers with tool experience and aeronautic levels of engineering. This is not something found in third world countries for development. Multiple orbits is not an easy feat, although many may think it is. To arrive at such a machine is a marvel in and of itself. Balancing is not a simple task yet we have dynamic balance as opposed to static found in other machines. With that comes into play the backing plate. Yes it will have machine specific backing plates. Not to limit your choice, but the backing plates will be balanced to the machine. With multiple orbits it has to be this way. I've known the man behind this machine personally for about 15 years now, I don't know of anything he has done that was not engineered to a "T". I can also tell you this was not to enter a flooded market, it was to bring a premier machine, worthy of Lake Country, and to offer something that is not out there already.

    Stay tuned!

Thanks for continuing to chime in Jason. The types of comments you and everyone at Lake Country will see on this forum and other places in the blogosphere, most positive, a few negative, just goes to show how much interest and also excitement there is in the new tools from Lake Country.
