    Re: Lake Country polishing machine?????

We'll have to see about the pricing. Saw somewhere it may retail for between $600-700! That seems quite steep. Makita offers a very unique design feature in their PO5000C in that it is forced rotation and free-spinning.....for $369.00.

On the matter of "user adjustable throw" or what ever they call it, It is a novel feature, I'll give them that. However, after you have played with it a bit I bet the novelty will wear off pretty quickly. I'm still a fan of the current offerings either 15mm or 21mm "set it and forget it" design.

Let's see what real-world users say and let the market speak as to its value!

Curious what machines you have experience with to make the above statement?

It's my opinion, and it stands.

Looks nice, but knowing me I'd accidentally bump the Rotary switch and burn up somebodies hood paint thinking I was in DA mode lol. I kid, but it does look sweet.

Very good question. I believe they “went back to the drawing board” a few months back. I remember reading something from LC but I can’t find it. The thing will have so many moving parts they have to get it right. With so many cheap knockoffs of the Rupes available it is going to be difficult for LC to charge $600 for a polisher. You can buy 4 $99 Chinese knockoffs with different throws. I bought a $99 set and it had two Sonax pads and the pads alone would have been $30. I don’t know how they can make them so cheap.
