    Flex 3401 VRG backing plates

Is there an exactly 5" backing plate available for the Flex 3401? As the picture shows I want to use a 5" Uro Fiber pad with the Flex, but the pad is exactly 5" while the backing plate is 5.5", leaving a 1/4" exposed backing plate that I'm afraid might scratch the paint if I bump into it near curves etc.

    Skill level: Weekend warrior.

Edited to add: I know there's a 4" adapter that would leave a .5" overhang of the pad. Not perfect, but in my opinion still better than having the backing plate go beyond the pad. No?

Don't they make a 6" Uro Fiber pad?

They do make 6" Uro Fiber pads, but I prefer 5" pads.

Thanks for the link. $42 for a backing plate, wow!
