Bought this from Costco!
Had been just using water hose with a foam cannon attached. But.....things will be much better with a high pressure washer and a new foam cannon!

Re: Bought this from Costco!
Just be careful not to get the lance too close to the paint. 2700 PSI if very high pressure for car paint.
I thnk you will like using a pressure washer as opposed to a hose. I think they do a great job at pre-cleaning. If you get good at it you can remove almost all the dirt without touching the paint.
Let us know how you like it

Is it really though? The coin op pressure washers seem to be at least 2700 and people put them up close to the cars all the time

Believe me it WILL remove paint, pin stripes, and body molding. Full PSI is great for cleaning concrete but dial it down for auto cleaning or keep a good distance. I speak from a bitter experience not guesswork.

Re: Bought this from Costco!
Ya. Safe pressure for car paint is under 2000 PSI. You can use higher pressures but using it at a distance is the safe thing to do. If your paint is perfect it won't do anything, but if you have any defect in the paint such as a rock chip or heavy scratch, or rust spot; a high pressure at very close distance can lift the paint there and make a mess.
Just have to be more careful with higher pressure, not a big issue.

You need to keep it far enough away from any deep dings, scratches or other places where the clearcoat has been breached. Too close and you can open up a nice wound.

I own the Karcher K3 (Electric) 1800 PSI,1.3GPM I would not use anything wiith a higher PSI. I can dial the pressure down to avoid damage to Pin Striping, badges and Emblems.

Re: Bought this from Costco!
I used a 2500+ psi gas pressure washer for years and have never had a problem but I am very cautious to not get the tip of the wand closer than a foot or so. Just don't be tempted to get closer to try to get that last bug or tar off the paint and you should be fine.
