AIO Buffer (Rotary+Dual Action)

Maybe people have different preferences when it comes to there choice of buffers to use, some like using the old school rotary buffers and some like using the dual action buffers an most use both or use whats called for according to the job. Sitting at the computer one day looking different buffer specs and designs the idea came to me, why not have a All In One buffer? somthing that has the capability to turn a switch or click a button and your rotary switches over to a DA? think about how much time and money this would save in the auto/marine detailing industry. Lets say Joe likes compounding with his rotary and then likes to put it up and pull out his DA to polish out the swirls and scratches? well this is what 75% of us do today to reach the maximum flawless finishes that we are looking for right? Think of the idea of having all that power into one buffer! at a click of a switch or a press of a button your rotary switches over to DA mode and all you have to do is switch out pads and go to work! i would love to hear any thoughts on my little idea so please post them here!

Makita has something like this but you can switch between a forced da to a regular da.

This tool offers a dual ocillating action in
two modes, one is forced rotation and the
other is non-forced for free spinning.

It's kind of like having the Flex 3401 and
a Porter Cable 7424XP in the same tool.

There’s Rupes iBrid Nano does this. Maybe they’ll make iBrid full size in the future.

Also that new Makita does forced and free motion. Not rotary though.

The new Makita 5000 is also a switched forced dual action or non switched free floating dual action. Not really what you are suggesting, asap2stacks but a combo machine nonetheless.

get an adapter for your rotary to switch to D/A or Forced D/A... Makitas aren't quite there yet for a true dual purpose as pad rotation in free spin mode just isn't there...
