Do cordless polisher work?
I don't have a garage so was wondering if a portable polisher is worth getting or should I just polish by hand?

Re: Do cordless polisher work?
Probably good enough to apply AIO's or a finishing polish.

Cruz - DA or rotary?
Any of the Random Orbitals I've seen have best been reviewed as good for wax application, but not having the power/battery life for any real correction.
Milwaukee has a M18 Rotary that I would bet holds up. Hopefully I'm not breaking the rules mentioning it, but I feel like Mike Phillips himself chimed in on a thread that talked about it. I've been really impressed with any of the Milwaukee cordless tools. (M12 Hackzall, M12 90° Drill, M12 Ratchets, M18 Fuel 3/8" impact, etc. Sorry, Mechanic by trade)

Re: Do cordless polisher work?
Is it possible to spot polish a couple areas and not the entire car by hand? Should I even bother?

Possible? Yes. By hand or by machine. Cordless? Yes. I've used the Meg's DA Power System (drill attachment) on a cordless DeWalt 20v Max with success. Megs doesn't recommend a cordless drill, however. I'm guessing most drills won't have the power, but that's just my own assumption.
The DeWalt I've used has plenty of power to do some correction

Milwaukee makes a cordless Rotary, they say it will stay charged through your a whole vehicle as well. Also it's ran by lithium batteries so the power will be the same quality while working. I myself have never used the machine.

Re: Do cordless polisher work?
The Griot lithium 5/Maverick and the RBL cordless can do very light correction if you use compound and cut pad.
The issue with them are they don't have enough rotation speed and the batteries only last 30 min give it take..
So essentially only good for applying LSP.
The Rupes Nano Ibrid works well as design.
The Milwaukee 12v rotary, can correct but again battery life..good for spot correction though or headlights
The Milwaukee 18V corrects but you'd have to do a quick 1 -2 pass do over before battery dies..
Can't use thier big battery either as it'll touch panel..can o oy use the 5mah and 6 mah batteries

Re: Do cordless polisher work?
The new DeWalt cordless DA and rotary might be worth it. Waiting on more specs.
