Re: Am I washing my microfiber towels wrong way?
My towels have lasted longer from air drying vs machine drying. Just look at the lint trapper afterwards, all that lint is shedded fibers resulting in thinner towels.

Pretty much contact any water softener company local to you and they will have a system to sell you.

In the meantime, you might try a laundramat in your are. The laundramat will probably have soft water (Ask) and you will be able to use a dryer. Don't be tempted to add your regular laundry to the load, your MF must be washed alone.

Interesting perspective, as I've always thought the more fibers in the lint trap, the fewer fibers on my paint. The solution might lie somewhere in the middle? I've just found it to be a pain to air dry. And being a non-pro, I don't really have issues with wearing out my towels. But your point is a valid one. Blue jeans, for example, last a lot longer when you don't run them through the dryer.

I actually machine dry until slightly damp then air dry the rest of the way.

Don't know what kind of MF towels you own, but I rarely if ever find mf lint in the trap. If you are losing fibers from drying in a dryer, resulting in thinner towels, you need to get better quality towels.

Mostly all towels from AGO. Chinchillas, Shine and Buff, Griots PFM. Does that say something of the nature of the towels? ::shrug::

They should not be shedding after one or two washes, no matter if you are air or machine drying.

Same here about getting almost no lint from my microfiber towels. I have a mixture of towels from Ragg Co, Geek, and CG. I dry mine on the lowest possible setting and they are nice and fluffy. I do get better results using Tide Free than the two dedicated microfiber wash soaps I have tried.
