Re: Pondering the Rupes LHR 12E Duetto...
Get the Rupes 21 MkII and 5" backing plate it is a beast machine! And if your budget is not tight, then also get Duetto and Mini or just Duetto with kamikaze 3" backing plate. I have Mini, Duetto, 15 MkII and 21 MkII and 15 MkII is collecting dust.

I only have a Duetto and do not use their pads or polishes, but have been considering using the Boss Creams and pads with it. For some reason I'm not really interested in using the Rupes system as a whole.
Their system is great, but I find myself using Megs liquids with them.

Re: Pondering the Rupes LHR 12E Duetto...
Eh, FWIW jumped into the Rupes 15 Mk II. With discounts from the sales (20% on some items at checkout) and discounted Gift Certificates ended up with $725 in Bigfoot 15 mk ii HD machine, polishes and pads for around $530.
6 Rupes Yellow pads
6 Rupes White pads
6 Buff 'n Shine Uro-Tec maroon pads
6 Rupes Blue Microfiber Cutting pads
1 Liter Rupes Keramik Gloss Fine Gel Polish w bonus pad
1 Liter Rupes Diamond Ultra Fine Gel Polish w bonus pad
Kinda stayed away from the blue/green Rupes pads and corresponding compounds as some have indicated the blue and green Rupes pads might not be the most durable. Thinking their corresponding 2 more aggressive compounds could likely be made up for with Megs D300 and/or Menz FG400 (already have) with the maroon B & S pads or the Rupes microfiber pads for more battered paint. Will give the omitted Rupes pads and liquids a try at a later date because ya always have to leave something to buy down the road. Already have many LC Thin Pros and HydroTechs to try as well if necessary.
Thanks to all for input...the adventure continues. The GG6 (once i send in for replacement due to what i think is electrical cord issues) will be moved to 3" duty if all goes as planned.
To all who are looking for great sales including Rupes stuff, just be patient. Now that I've hit the 'Purchase' button its a pretty safe bet a better sale will come along shortly. That's usually how it works out...sigh.

Nice. You will enjoy the 15 MKII. The blue pad is actually nice. I don't do this for a living so I have not had any issues with the blue foam pads. You don't need the green polish. The one pad and liquid combo that works really well is the UHS stuff. Later on you can try that.

Green Monday/Tuesday 25% off sucked me in (twice now). Added 6 UHS pads, 1L of UHS polish, 6 blue Rupes pads and 1L of Zephir Gloss Coarse Gel Compound to the 'ol cabinet full of stuff. Sometimes i just can't help myself.
Will be interesting to see just how "1-step-ish" the UHS can be.

I'd be inclined to say that you're fine with what you have considering the situation you're in.
That's not to say that I don't love my Duetto, but I do use it to make money, and for me, it had to pay for itself.
I've used Meguiar's and Menzerna polishes on blue microfiber, yellow microfiber, and yellow foam pads.
Meguiar's M100, and M205 work great with their pads, I actually prefer them to the Rupes polishes!
If you think you want one though, you have to scratch that itch, otherwise you'll always wonder.
I scratched my itch
