    M101

    Hi All

Just wanted to find out how good M101 is compared to other compounds, does it have more cut than the other common compounds or is it on par? It would be nice to hear from those that have used it as from what I have read it not only works well on foam as it was intended to but on microfiber and wool too.

It is an aggressive compound for sure, but can finish pretty well on harder paints. I typically only use it after sanding or on extremely neglected paint. Not sure if you've ever used M105, but to me it's like the new, improved M105. Cuts great, fairly long work time and doesn't dust much. Only compound I've used that cuts harder is Scholl S0 and that always needs to be polished after to remove haze.

    Re: M101

We use M101 regularly for heavy cutting. Usually paired with MF cutting pads. M101 will have more cut than something like M100, M105, FG400, etc. The downside to M101 that I have found is the dusting (relative to very low dusting products like GG Fast Correcting Creme and FG400), but if you need fast, heavy cutting, it is a great product.

Best compound I have found, worth the price. Designed to be used with foam pads, if used with MF pads it will dust some.

Ok so it has more cut than FG400? If this is true it's exactly what I was looking for as on some hard paints FG400 is more like a medium polish.

Give Menzerna 300 a try for much more cut in spot compounding. I wouldn't recommend you do an entire car with it but 300 is the real deal and removes 1200 grit defects. It's probably the most powerful compound there is. Although I have not tried the new GG cream Zach recommends.

300 is recommended for rotary use only and apparently doesn't finish well? M101 should be on par with 300 in cut but finish better?

NB. We get M101 and FG400 this side,no 300 though.

I've used it with a flex and boss and it works just fine. Yes it isn't the ideal finish, like I said its for spot defect removal.
