    new concrete driveway..

    Hey guys/gals.

I just got new concrete driveway poured and its all cured up. I want to start washing the cars on it but im worried about some of the soaps/chemicals we use.

Anyone have any info on products that are ok vs products you would NOT use?

Thanks in advance. I had a blacktop driveway prior and didnt have to worry as much.

Don't know how much concrete you have...
But get yourself enough Boiled Linseed Oil and #2 Diesel Fuel, to mix at a 50/50 ratio, and "paint" the driveway.

I use a 5gal. bucket, and a paint roller on an extension pole.
    Of course:
No sparks, open flames, or any other sources of ignition.

Why not get yourself some concrete sealer. You can enhance the look and add protection. I would not roll on diesel fuel, before its fully cured, or ever for that matter, it will stain most concrete surfaces.

I have used several sealers in the past to enhance the depth of color of concrete as well as just to protect it, it depends on what you want to do with it.

Your best bet would be to seal the concrete with low gloss sealer once the concrete has fully cured. If you are planning to stain the concrete, do that first and then seal it. Then seal it annually or bi-annually as needed to keep protected.

I appreciate the work and artistry that went into that, but in today's world why would you do that instead of making it out prefabricated colored concrete pavers?

Thanks guys. The driveway was sealed by the company that did it. I will seal again before winter.

What product did they use to seal your driveway? TIA.

Very nicely done. I work with pigmented concrete all day, every day. You never know what color scheme and finish a customer will want next, can be very challenging.
