    My first ONR wash

I did my first ONR today on my Volvo. It turned out pretty good. I just had time to wash not wax or anything (loosing day light). I will show pics then ask questions. I will admit I am nervous showing yall pics because I am such a rookie lol But here we go

    Before

    After

If it had not been getting dark I could have done some better (will tomorrow lol) Heres my questions

1 Do I need to clean the wash mit or just let dry? What bout the micro fiber towels?

2 What can I do to get it looking better then this? I know it needs a new paint but that requires money lol.

I had a neighbor say it looked really good....and Im thinking its got a loooong way to go before it looks good lol. But the comment was nice

    1. Yes you need to clean it. Why wouldnt you? You will re-introduce dirt to your paint if you dont.

    2. Unfortunately that clear coat failure on your hood has to go. You need a re-paint.

I would recommend you pre-rinse it with something like DP's pad rejuvenator which works for Mf as well. After you pre-rinse, wash it with a dedicated MF cleaner like Blackfire microfiber cleaner & restorer.

Thats my method at least. Even so, your wash media will never look like new again. I use a 600 gsm MF towel for ONR and other rinseless washes. On the left is a CLEAN, thoroughly cleaned with by method above. To the right is a brand new towel. As you can see there is a difference.

I'd say you'd get a big boost in appearance for not much money by taking care of the headlights. Don't ask me how, but that's what I'd do.

I wouldn't beat myself up about the condition of the paint: Clean cars with straight bodies and faded paint have a certain dignity to them. There are lots worse effects.
