Re: What did you do today detailing related?

    Yesterday's project: 2006 Mini Cooper S.

Took the wheels off to do a thorough cleaning because the wheel barrels really seemed to accumulate brake dust. I did one of these a few weeks ago but ran out of time to do the others. I started with Griot's Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner and a pressure washer, but moved onto Nanoskin Speedy Brite, which made a huge difference in effectiveness. A layer of Griot's Liquid Polywax was then applied. Wheel lugs were soaked in CLP. Tires were dressed with McKee's Gloss Tire Gel.

Lower one is the one that was previously cleaned and treated. Who knew that the interior is whitish?

Car washed with Griot's Super Concentrated Car Wash, CarPro HydrO2 applied prior to drying. Trim treated with McKee's Plastic Trim Restorer.

And today I ****ed up the vinyl decals trying to get rid of some spots on them

This evening's project, if it doesn't rain, is an initial cleaning of this rolling garden...

Not exactly detail related, but dropped the engine in this 1929 Isotta Fraschini today. I'm exhausted. Getting ready for the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Lots of work still to go.

Re: What did you do today detailing related?

So it sprinkled on my car today and it had a couple days worth of driving on it so it was time for a wash. I reached for my battery powered weed sprayer, loaded with N914, and got to it. I then grabbed my go to wheel cleaner for maintenance cleanings, CG's Sticky Citrus, and cleaned them up. The clean as you go mentality makes washing the car easier and yes, I know my car is a runt but still, staying ontop of things makes it easier. Start to finish takes about 45 minutes and this includes cleaning the wheel faces and barrels.
