    Masking tape?

What type of tape do you recommend for 50/50 shots and taping off body edges? Should I keep 2 levels of adhesion on hand?

I currently have a roll of 3m green automotive tape. I sticks really good, almost too good. Says it sticks the best. If fact, I'm a little hesitant to use it on a particular car because the body panel edges are thin...so thin that the factory paint has flaked off on several locations on the whole car.

Just trying to gather some info. I've got several cars I want to get done before fall classes start. I gotta get on it because I've yet to order some other tools before getting started. I already may not make it in the time frame I was hoping to.

I use blue painters tape. It sticks enough to hold, but it doesn't leave a residue behind because it doesn't stick as strong as some others.

Though I've never used the blue painter tape on a car I've used it paint inside my home. I wasn't to pleased with it because there were spots that the paint found its way underneath the tape. Perhaps it was user error, idk. I don't think the bleeding would be an issue for the 50/50 shots and I'm certain it would be alright to use as far as not being too sticky to use on panels.

Is the blue tape automotive tape? Or do they make the green in different adhesion levels? I suppose I could order the Meguire's tape and not worry about it, but I wanted some input from some people first.

I also use blue paint tape found at your local HD. I like it for my 50/50 practice hood I have. So far when I have try stuff on it the tape holds pretty good and now residue left behind.

It does however leave a little sicky residue on silver trim which comes right off with a mf towel.

I use the 3m yellow tape. I like it alot. I get it from a local paint and body shop for pretty cheap. Its like $1.75 for a big roll of tape. They also sell the green but it is a little more expensive and I cant really tell a difference.

I buy the Blue 3M tape in bulk on Amazon and love it... No issues here with it... I use it for my details and for my spray in truck bed liners and when I am painting a car that too......

The tutorials on here Mike uses the green.
I use the blue or green depending on which I put my hands on first.
