Brinkmann Tuff Max Dual LED or Dual Xenon?

As the title states I'm trying to figure out why someone would choose one over the other. Is one more powerful than the other? Does one bring out swirls better than the other? Just wondering which you would purchase and why?

    Thanks

I have and use both.... if you're going to buy just one I'd honestly go with the LED one. The batteries last longer between charges, and the light is significantly more intense. There are situations where the Xenon bulbs show defects better, but overall I'm really happy with the LED unit as well.

thanks shiny. could you possibly shed some light on what those situations may be? I feel I have sufficient lighting in my garage to see what's going on for the hood, roof and trunk. I would primarily be using this tool around the sides of the vehicle.

I prefer the Xenon bulbs myself... but it's personal prefernece..

Maybe get both and decide for yourself?

Heck I take the Xenon Brinkmann Swirl Finder Lights with me wherever I go...

Rechargeable batteries and comes with both the AC charger and DC charger for your car.

Damp-Sanding Tools, Tips and Techniques by Mike Phillips

    Excerpt from the above thread...

Polishing - Makita 9207 Rotary Buffer, M205, W-8207 Foam Polishing Pad.

Checking my work each step of the way by wiping with Mineral Spirits and using the Brinkmann Swirl Finder Light to insure no sanding marks were missed and no swirls were left behind.

For really low panels, if you hold the light down low and at just the right angle it will shine just right to show the "surface" condition of the paint, this is the area you want to be looking at when inspecting. The part of the light I'm using in these shots is the small lit up area that's is the reflection of the bulb in the paint, not the large blown out area lit up by the light.

After Shots - This is after all the rotary buffer steps...

I have an older one that has both. For defects I like the Xenon bulb for just about everything else I like the led. I bought it at Home Depot a few years ago.

I had one of those too and love it...

LED for general use to save battery power and Xenon to expose swirls, micromarring or sanding marks...
